On No Voice if Not Pro-Choice...
"The Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney filed suit against Interior Secretary Bruce Babbitt after being denied a permit by the National Park Service to carry pro-life signs on a Pennsylvania Avenue sidewalk during President Clinton's inaugural parade. In a letter from Interior, Mr. Mahoney and members of the Christian Defense Coalition were warned they might be arrested if they showed up for Mr. Clinton's parade with pro-life signs. 'The Clinton administration has betrayed the principles of the First Amendment by threatening to arrest peaceful demonstrators for simply holding signs on a public sidewalk,' Mr. Mahoney says."

On Death in the '90s...
"Abortion proponents argued in Roe vs. Wade that a change in the law was needed because 12-year-olds were getting pregnant by their drunken stepfathers. Now we won't stop the killing of a child as it emerges from the birth canal. It will be the same with euthanasia and any other category of life deemed 'difficult' or 'inconvenient' or a 'burden.' Once it is established that some lives are less valuable and less meaningful than other lives (as happened in Roe), the rest is merely who's next and how quickly we can move forward with the disposal process."

On Common Sense...
"I am placing the physicians of South Carolina on notice. This office will not stand idly by and tolerate this form of infanticide."

On Timeless Words of Wisdom...
"Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it."
--God, to Cain in Genesis 4:6-7 (NIV)
On Advice Not Taken...
"Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers, and it is the duty, as well as the privlege and interest of our Christian nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers."

On an Amazing Piece of Work...
[Editor's Note: The following was received via C-News on 1/9/97 in the AFA/Texas Family Update -- January 8, 1997. It's longer than a normal quote, but I think it needs to be seen in its entirety.]================================================================ ==> ANTI-CHRISTIAN BIGOTRY ON SPORTS PAGE DEMANDS RESPONSE ================================================================ Roger Phillips of the Press Telegram in Long Beach, California has brought anti-Christian bigotry to the sports section of the newspaper. In a vicious and blasphemous column that ran across the country (reprinted in its entirety below), Phillips ridiculed several football players for giving credit to God for their success in the NFL playoffs. > Phillips can be reached: > (310) 499-1279 or > PTSPORTS@PTCONNECT.INFI.NET Here's what he wrote: "We checked the news Sunday morning before the games started, and a lot of it, quite frankly, was awful. In a small California town, a sniper armed with a military rifle fatally shot two deputies responding to a domestic call to a trailer. In Idaho, rescuers slogged through five feet of snow to recover five people who died when their plane crashed into a mountain. And flooding forced 125,000 Northern Californians from their homes. Maybe all of this is happening because Jaguar quarterback Mark Brunell and right tackle Tony Boselli are right: God's busy with the NFL playoffs. Saturday, Brunell credited God for the Jaguars' upset victory over the Broncos, whose roster obviously must be dotted with heathens and atheists. Beelzebub -- not God -- must have been at the NFL's helm the last few years when the Satanic Cowboys were dominating. 'God has blessed this football team,' Brunell said. 'He's been with us since the beginning. We've got a bunch of guys who love the Lord, and He's been with us.' She, Mark, She. For his part, Boselli thanked the Lord for curing his flu so he could perform to his maximum capabilities, which would explain why God didn't cure the deep thigh bruise of Bronco safety Steve Atwater, who obviously is a disciple of Lucifer, and why She allowed evil Cowboy wide receiver Michael Irvin to break his collarbone. 'I was sicker than a dog before the game, praying,' Boseli said, 'and God has healed me.' Now if only God could tackle those pesky AIDS and cancer problems. Maybe after the Super Bowl. But first, She has to decide the AFC title game: Curtis Martin and Keith Byars said God allowed the Patriots to beat the Steelers."
