On Having Nothing to Hide...
"Eight more days and I can start telling you the truth again. It's killing me, I'll tell you. I gotta lie [through] my teeth to you every time I co me on this show. It's driving me nuts."
--DNC Co-chairman Sen. Christopher Dodd, the Don Imus Show, 10/28/96, as monitored by Talk Daily. From RNC Talking points, 10/28/96.
On Clinton Campaign Reform...
"The DNC held a fund-raiser with Bill Clinton at which Yogesh K. Gandhi gave a check for $325,000 (which made him the DNC's 20th-largest donor) to the Democrats. But during a court appearance by Gandhi in August, he told the court he was not a U.S. citizen, had no assets in the United States and could not even pay the $20 filing fee for his divorce."
--From RNC Talking points, 10/29/96
On Clinton Campaign Reform II...
"The DNC held a fund-raiser at a Buddhist temple hosted by Vice President Al Gore in which the Democrats netted $140,000. Not only is it against the law for religious institutions to hold fund-raisers because of their tax-exempt status, but the monks and nuns in the temple live under a vow of poverty. Worse, one woman attending the fund-raiser has said she was approached by an unknown individual who gave her $5,000 cash and told her to write a check to the DNC. That's a crime."

On the Unbiased Media...
"In the first two years this is a man [Clinton] who tried his best to balance the budget, to reform health care, to fight for gay rights, to support personal freedoms. Couldn't those be considered doing the right things, evidence of true character?"
--Bryant Gumbel to David Marannis, MSNBC's Internight, October 10. Outrage du Jour for 10/26/96.
On the Unbiased Media II...
"While [Reagan] appeared to be empathetic, his polices caused enormous suffering for those who were least able to afford it."
--Bryant Gumbel to Washington Post reporter Lou Cannon in discussion about Ronald Regan, same show. Outrage du Jour for 10/26/96
On Inertia in Action...
"Nothing is so permanent as a temporary government program."
--Milton Friedman, favorite saying. From Conservative Quotes.
