"A teacher friend attended a briefing on Goal 2000. One of the take home points is to make a teacher more important to the kid than his/her parents/family. Another directive is that he must "adopt" six kids in his class and take them to games and places. What about if the six kids already have strong and supportive families. Doesn't matter, he must do it or the administrators will count that against him."
